Out of the office and into classrooms!
Date
11th March
We’ve been getting out of the office and into classrooms – working with school‑aged students through to university level. It’s something we genuinely love doing 💚
At the University of Nottingham, Alicja Smolen, James Chapman and Ben Lancaster have been back supporting the Year 3 Group Design Project. They delivered intro sessions, joined studio workshops and spent time with student teams developing structural and drainage schemes 🏗️
At Leeds College of Building, Callam Gartland and Ewan Strachan joined the fantastic Constructing Careers Day organised by Yorkshire Children’s Charity. It’s a hands‑on, practical day giving Year 10 and 11 students insight into careers in construction. Our team introduced routes into engineering, talked about what civil and structural engineers and technicians actually do, and set a fun design challenge (not all the marshmallows made it into the towers…).
As Yorkshire Children’s Charity put it: “A single day like this can be the moment a young person discovers a path they didn’t know existed.” We’re proud to play a small part in that – and to support the amazing work they do 💚
