Hexa appointed to deliver a new global conservation centre at Twycross Zoo.
Date
20th June
We are delighted to be appointed as civil and structural engineers on the landmark £25 million Global Conservation Centre at Twycross Zoo, Leicestershire.
This unique two-storey development will feature a 200-seat lecture theatre, a new habitat for Bornean orangutans, and dedicated research and teaching spaces. It will also include accommodation for visiting international experts and students, supporting global collaboration in conservation science.
Backed by £18 million from the Government’s Levelling Up Fund, the project is set to begin construction this month, with completion expected in late 2026. Once open, the centre will play a vital role in advancing real-world solutions to biodiversity loss and climate challenges.
We’re proud to contribute our engineering expertise to a scheme that will have lasting impact on wildlife conservation and education, both locally and globally.
